Called to Work in Harmony: Personnel Policies for Lay and Religious Employees in the Diocese of Richmond

In its Seventh Edition, Called to Work in Harmony contains human resource policies for the Pastoral Center, parishes, schools and agencies.  These policies describe our expectations and current practice.

Clearly, Called to Work in Harmony cannot contain policies and practices for every situation. Employers exercise discretion for unique situations and should develop specific practices for the parish or school which are consistent with the spirit and letter of the policies of Called to Work in Harmony. Employers and employees should not hesitate to call the Human Resources Office for clarification of and the application of policies and practices in Called to Work in Harmony.

Diocesan Safe Environment Regulations, July 2005

Protecting children and youth in the care of our employees and volunteers from possible abuse is a major focus of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. Every employee and volunteer in the Diocese should have a copy of the Diocesan Safe Environment Regulations document. Guidelines for screening employees and volunteers are contained in these Regulations
