InSanctity Retreat
May 17-19, 2013
Jubilee Retreat Center in Abingdon, VA
Those youth who live in the southwest area of the diocese are invited to join us for the InSanctity Retreat experience. Using the idea of athletic training, InSanctity will help teens understand the importance of prayer while giving them the opportunity to “exercise” different forms of prayer. Grades 9-12 are invited for an overnight retreat Friday, May 17 through Saturday, May 18. Those in middle school are invited to a day retreat the afternoon of Sunday, May 19. Both retreat experiences will include activities, talks, food, prayer experiences, along with a chance for youth in the southwestern corner of Virginia to come together as a Catholic community.

Middle School Day Camp is a week long day camp experience for youth in grades 6-8. The goal of the camp is to bring middle school youth together from local area parishes to grow in community, understanding of their faith, and relationship with Christ. Middle School Camp activities include games, service, prayer, water sports, community building and fostering a deeper spiritual understanding on specific topics. This year’s theme is “Fit for a King” based off of Matthew 6:33. Youth will learn to take ownership of their faith growing in their identity as men and women of God. The camp is open to all youth who are 5th graders through 7th graders during the current 2012 – 2013 academic year. High school students serve as counselors throughout the week to help with the activities.

"This was my fourth year attending DYC, but never before has it made
such an impact on my life. While every year has been fun, and filled
with God and good times, this year I had the moment that every one
of the keynote speakers talks about...that moment where God changes
your life forever."
